was left suspended in midair!

new word in my vocabulary: understandee and the understander!

I am the understander because I was left with the task to always understand my friends and they are what I now call the understandee.

Lots of alibi's and they expect you to bear with them over and over and another over again. Sorry about this, sorry about that, was all I ever got.

I guess they just don't know the meaning of friendship after all.

and I must say that everything has its limitations and this time I cannot take it anymore.

I just can't continue caring. I am sorry but I am out.

sad, sadder, saddest

I'll be praying for whatever's best for you Lolo.

If a door closes another window of opportunity will open.

Never get tired of praying and thanking the Lord for all the good and bad things that Life has to offer.

Remember that there will always be sunshine even after the fiercest rains.

I must not forget to smile :)

and always bank on the love of the people surrounding me.

Veer away my mind from things that happen beyond my control.

how long is indefinite? how does forever ends?

how can we measure time and space in a non-scientific way?
How will I know if the time that I should devote to thinking is already enough?

and I hate u so

don't know how long this would last :(
can't understand a bit and I feel like I am far far away since last night, its like the cosmic balance of the universe started to fall apart.

I can't live two lives at the same time,
I can't manage two emotions simulataneously
I can't see things in two perspective
I just can't live ur life for you.

It's kinda different, and super sad but maybe just maybe things are just not meant for us. :(

superhero junkie!

my ultimate source of entertainment and inspiration, a certified solution to depression and my escape to the harsh realities of life. I dont know what I would do or where will I be without them - the superhero flicks that I so love and have guided me in my happiest and my lowest moments in life. (hehehe! mejo mababaw but this is my choiceb for a feel good movie eh *wink*)

Yah, its my saving grace, thats why I always secretly believe that I have powers myself and its evolution is just bidding its time before I transform into something beautiful and very powerful :)

well my true purpose of writing this piece is to list down the best superhero movies that won my attention others may not agree with me but these movies are really A-rated in my heart.

arranged in random order I havent really ranked them so I'm just listing it for you.

The incredibles - mainly because I'm a family person, and the idea of fighting evil villains alongside each other is very exhilarating for me:) plus the cool powers is divided so each member will play an important role in the fight. Aside from its coolness and family orientation the fusion of the normal and hero life was perfectly executed, childrens normal angst, mid-life crisis, couple problems and even normal job for a super strong person is really a charmer. :) I can watch it as many times and I wont get bored it might be my number 1 but lets see...

Sky High - high school life + family expectations and super powers were just a WOW combination for me. It aims to target young audiences so I really feel young and strong by just watching this film. the lesson it imparts is also a valuable point to ponder for even the smallest power or tiniest individual have its worth and should not be disregarded:)

X-men trilogy + X-men Origins - I dont know if I need to explain it because obviously x-men is already a legend beginning from its well-received series. the cartoon figures springing into life and seeing Storm my favorite superhero in action is really a worthy way of spending my time even if I have to watch it over and over again. :)

Fantastic Four - not really on top of my list but I still like it, its how they get their powers and the way they reacted to it is what I like best about the two movies.

Spiderman - spiders are scary for me but turning it into something good is worth the watch :)

Push - just watched it and though not many people will include it in their A-list its different approach to power and capabilities is a nice and fresh story for me. If i'm like them I think i'd like to be a mover :)

Iron man - at first I thought I wouldn't like it but it turned out that Robert Downey's portrayal was enough to convince me that its a nice decent film. although his powers was not supernatural, his brilliant scientific mind still enabled him to help others :)

more to come :)

newest baby in the family :)

I so love playing Mom to Tenshi :)

the five people you meet in heaven

by Mitch Alboom
(author of the popular book Tuesdays with Morrie)

I am so engrossed with the book that I was able to finish it in 24 hours. Really a must read for its entertaining and inspiring story that somehow reflects what people can expect in life after death. The story depicts a more extensive analysis of how Eddie (the lead character) lived his life on earth. The reality and the lessons that he missed when he was alive was the ingredient for him to move on and discover his own heaven.

the book was also made into a movie. Hope to see it as well. :)

quotes i loved from the book:

"All the people you meet here have one thing to teach you."
"That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind."
"Fairness doesn't govern life and death. For if it did, no good man would ever die young."
"It is because the spirit knows deep down that all lives intersect. That death doesn't just take someone, it misses someone else. And in that small distance, lives are changed."
"One withers, another grows."
"Each affects the other and the other affects the next, and the world is full of stories, but the stories are all one."
"Strangers are just family you have yet to come to know."
"No life is a waste, The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we are alone."
"All parents damage their children. It cannot be helped."
"That's what heaven is. You get to make sense of your yesterdays."

Ondoy's wrath made an island out of Metro Manila

Sept. 26, 2009 - Another date added to the list of historical calamities and disasters. Metro Manila along with other areas in Central Luzon was submerged in flood after non-stop rains thats equivalent of a month-long rain. Death toll already reached 200 and is still counting.

Adding up the catastrophic rains is the rapid spread of water released from water dams. Although I think its a smart move rather than risk the dams exploding until it cannot hold the water anymore, the people still deserve to be warned that heavy flow of water not only from the rain should be expected. Again, prevention is better than cure.

This is the first time that I saw the streets where I grew up became an extension of the Pasig River. water lilies and trash swims along with my feet as I walk the path towards our home that was also submerged in knee-deep dirty water.

Ondoy really gave the Filipinos an experience thats really hard to forget. Many became homeless and some even lost their lives. a very catastrophic event that I hope left us some of the most important lessons in life. - Never to take for granted our Mother Nature. :(

bad people deserve punishment!

I really hate robbers, thieves, holduppers and all other kinds of people who earn at the expense of others. We really cant tell how they chose their victims and its scary to think that anybody could be next. :(

Dati and mga tao takot sa multo at sa iba pang supernatural beings but the way I see it now, ang new version ng scavengers and predators ay hindi na blood-sucking, flesh-eating monsters kundi mga tao na kukunin ang pinaghirapan at pinag ipunan mo ng matagal na panahon sa ilang minutong pananakot lang.

Commuting alone for me is a form of relaxation, my time to think things through and sometimes to indulge in my daydreams or to read a book I'm dying to finish.

Nakakapanghina, nakakatakot, a mere minutes of traveling from home to office or vice versa might turn into a nightmare brought about by another human being you thought just living a normal life like you.

what ever happened to peaceful coexistence?

SCTEP atlast!

I'd be seeing my best buddies since College tonight. :) were going to talk about a lot of things since we have lots of catching ups to do. last time I saw them was last January for Cathy's b-day. and as much as we wanted to see each other more often we always ended up with nothing for we all have very tight schedules. But tonight will be a fun night even though Mommy shai had last minute changes and decided that she couldn't come, Cathy, Tin, Eliza and me will still push this date.

We are going to discuss the details of Cathy's upcoming wedding in December where we will wear fancy gowns as bridesmaids (I am super excited :)) and the welcoming of SCTEP's first baby ever from Tin and Ryan. Baby fever is in the air :) Just this year alone 3 of my inaanak's were born.:)

Tonight we will feel the evolution of our friendship, from petty topics about boys, school problems and other simple things we will now talk about weddings and pregnancy. whew! but whatever topic we choose, I'm sure we'll have a blast.

thank you GOD for the nice weather!

I was so worried last week that my most anticipated trip in Boracay will be ruined by heavy rains. of course I worry for our safety plus we wont see and experience Boracay's true beauty in case it rained.

But God is really good. :)

He let me and my friends took advantage of the sun and Boracay's pristine beauty. I had so much fun and its really divine to experience the wonders of nature.

Aug. 14-16, 2009 in Boracay was yet another vacation that I will remember forever. :)

Sad part is, I deem that in 1 or 2 years time the beauty of Boracay will start to fade, so many establishments are on the beach front and in the vicinity so its as if all the sands of boracay was already used in the construction. I don't know how long will the nature hold on to its promise of beauty. but setting this mere observation aside, I'm just proud that the cerulean waters and white sand of boracay belongs to the Philippines. :)

Here are some of my pics during our 3 day two night stay in Aklan. Happy to spend my boracay adventure with my etneb, my bestfriend beng, sherwin and the rest of the family. :)

my thought for the day

JK Rowling:

"In Hogwarts, help will come for those who need it."

Pia Lorraine:

"Prayer is the answer to everything that you need."

:)obviously im so into hogwarts, and harry and other potter related things that I ended up coming up with that connection. anyway its significantly the same and thats how faith goes. As long as you believe there will always be sunshine after the rain. :)

Half Blood: one of the best HP films

The sixth movie installment of the boy who lived is yet another trophy not only in the careers of the lead casts but also to the director Mr. David Yates and everyone who was a part in the making of this excellent film.

although admittedly the movie version is far from the book adaptation the cinematography is good that I can almost say that the movie can stand on its own. Of course I would still prefer the book more but since the book is so packed with action and various crucial scenes, it must have been very painful to omit most of its parts for the movie version.

Maybe because I can attribute this likeness for the 6th movie to the promise I made to myself that I wont judge the movie according to how I loved the books. Obviously I cannot expect the makers to copy the book as is because we might end up watching a 10-hour movie. :) My reactions for the fourth and fifth films were merely disappointment because the film is different from what I know according to the book.

needless to say I am really excited to see the last two movies and looking forward to watch the series from the philosophers stone to the deathly hallows straight in DVD.

the tale of FFQ

Friends Forevre Quoza (FFQ)- an odd name for a high school tropa, nonetheless high school life is really comprised of odds, unexpected and surprising bits of things that comes well - very inevitable.

high school is the awkward transition of childhood and adulthood like what britney spears used to sing "im not a girl not yet a woman :)." anyway its been almost 9 years since I graduated high school and I am glad to say that FFQ though with many names missing still strive to exist.

Some of us now have babies of their own, some are building names and careers while some were nowhere to be found but then again what can we expect since its a cycle where everybody will lead his own life when a chapter ends.

I cannot forget those people who were with me for full 4 years. celebrated b-days with me, cried with me, laughed with me and only God knows what else. :)

FF was starred by Anna, Winnie, Jaymee, Tonnie, Bheng, Phei, Joan, Bhem, Aphoy and Bubong while Quoza was billed by Rommel, Joey, Onald, Joel, Marvin A., Marvin S. and Randylord :D well I am not really sure with the other names since I am not even sure how the band started.

I don't know why I decided to write this piece, I just felt that I owe something to these people whom I called best of friends. I am trying to recount the experiences I had with them but the memory is overflowing that I cant seem to pick one.

I'm just thankful that our paths have crossed in one way or another and GOD left me with a handful of people that I can daresay willing to remain until (hopefully, please GOD let it be forever) were so old. :) Joey, Bheng, Joel, Rommel and Me and Some of marvin A. and S and Tonnie decided to keep closely in touch.

now were excited to meet the latest baby of the group. Jhelly and Joey's little treasure, many of us already have theirs, little joel, little jaymee, little Anna, little bhem and little onald's but joey's and joel's baby is the one I am excited the most since I get to see them always.

How to get over your EX in 10 days…

Written for Metropost Magazine distributed in coffee shops nationwide like UCC.

How to get over your EX in 10 days…
By Pia Lorraine V. Yater

The unrelenting cycle of love and pain.

As romantics put it pain is as inevitable as love. We all go through breakups, and they can be rough and tough for some and straightforward for others. But generally heartbreaks are major mood deflators and ego droppers.

Surely heartaches are unavoidable but it’s curable so here’s a ten-day guide of coping up after the break up.

Day 1

Rethink the issues and problems raised only to learn from them. But don’t ever blame yourself. Don’t act like everything was your fault. Just analyze and accept.
Its fair to be angry – you have to release you emotions anyway so why not deal with it in your own way, cry or scream for a day. Set that deadline, follow it and don’t over do it. Just let go of the tension and wash away the sadness it will do you good.

Day 2

Accept the pain. Once you’ve let it all up, its time for acceptance. Think about the times when you still don’t know him or her, this will remind you that you’ve live without him/her then you can certainly continue even without your ex partners presence.

Day 3

Talk to your family and friends. They are a good source of guidance and support. You need people that will remind you that you should love yourself more.

Day 4

Take a moment. Take a moment to unwind and be calm, talk to somebody you trust and feel good about yourself. Its torture to stay in a non-healthy relationship and bear in mind that being with the wrong person is worst than undergoing the pain of breakup.

Day 5

Clean up. Remove all mementos of his/her existence in your life. Keeping the things of your ex will only slow down the healing process. Think in the positive perspective you’ll soon be filling your closet of things from your next partner anyway so make way and be ready.

Day 6

Stay active. It’s scientifically proven that exercise perk up mood. Use this hobby as a diversion to keep your mind off the pain.

Day 7

Find happiness. Indulge in other activities that entertain you or start something new that can lift your mind off your worries and pain. Read a book; learn a new sport or travel and splurge if you must, pampering yourself will keep you moving on. There are many things to explore today so don’t miss out your chance to connect with the world and experience the beauty of life.

Day 8

Look good. Being loveless doesn’t mean you’ll forget about your own looks and appearance. Feel good about yourself and remember there are many fishes in the sea to look forward to.

Day 9

Let go. Accept that it’s pointless to be bitter or regretful. You may had a happy relationship with this past affair but since things didn’t work out good there’s still someone who’s meant for you, waiting to be found.

Day 10

Be optimistic. Now that you’re single, you get to find new people to hang out with. Don’t be afraid to love again, change for the better and always be true to yourself.

Along the way, you’ll also find these helpful hints will make you survive your misery.

Keep your distance – never contact your ex by any means, no emails, no calls, no unexpected visits and never stalk.

Refrain from checking his personal site - e.g. friendster, facebook or myspace if you think you’d be tempted to do so, use firewalls and blocksite that allows you to block the URL to that profile. The lesser you know about him or her the more chance you have for a speedy recovery.

Never take back your decision – On no account will you use your loneliness as a catalyst to take back what’s already said and finalized. If you overly romanticized the good times you shared it will only make you pity yourself for being alone so try not to dwell on these happy but PAST thoughts or memories.

a trip to the north 3rd part

our northern trip has become a 3 part series. I hope I could say everything on this chapter so I could move on to my next adventure. :)

ride to pagudpod is really hot and my excitement to see the windmills is getting on my nerves, until finally I saw tall white electrically powered windmills towering over the town of Bangui. one thing that Bangui people should improve on their tourism is to make a site out of their famous windmills. sayang lang kasi tourists should have their own car or ride a trycicle with special fees. pagbaba namin sa area the experience was good, ang ganda kasi ng windmills and the views is refreshing talaga.

its also a good thing na nagpahintay kami sa trycicle driver kasi theres no way a tourist can go back on foot.

after the Bangui adventure na hindi naman nagtagal because we only took pictures of me Flying high (airborne), big curling waves, the windmills and the fine sand, bumalik na kami sa main hi-way through the tricycle we rented on our bangui adventure. he also watched our belongings for us while we enjoyed the sceneries. Buti na lang mabait xa.

when we reached the hi-way we waited for a bus heading to pagudpod. 30 mins din ata yung pinaghintay namin before we reached pagudpod. bumaba kami sa parang terminal and ended up parang lost dahil we dont know where the beaches are. parang nahalata ng mga tao na lost kami sa surrounding so mega ask sila where we headed. A king tricycle driver again became our saviour. he took us to a hotel where we can stay. :) after maglapag ng gamit we checked the pristine waters of pagudpod agad. and our long travel suddenly became a worthy trip because of its serene beauty. the water is clean and even with ample light (at night) you can still see its crystal green color. wow sarap talaga maligo sa ganito ka fresh. we enjoyed the night by lying in the sand looking at the stars and feeling the splash of water and the smoothness of the fine white sand. We then realized that we are on the boundary of the Philippines anything beyond it is another country. Its really a blissful experience.

the next morning naligo kami ulit siyempre. early 7am nasa tubig na ako ulit. takot sa araw. :D after that nag check out na kami thinking that we will still tour loaog before our 5pm flight.

the least enjoyable is laoag although maganda ang paoay church and i have lots of pictures there. ok din and fort ilocandia pero ang lalayo ng tourist spots. we visited the local market at wala akong makitang makitang magandang pasalubong there. plus we have to pay 400PHp sa trycicle driver to see some places kaya by 3pm we decided na magpahatid na sa airport (since kasama na sa package ng 400PHp). and then a funny thing happened. 7pm pa pala ang flight namin hahaha. I misread our e-ticket. so no choice but to wait for our plane. anyway Ilocos is still a vacation that I would never forget bloopers aside :D

a trip to the north (continuation)

It was ages before I finally fulfilled my promise of tomorrow. :)

well na saan na ba ako, I ended up my last blog enumerating the places we visited while riding the kalesa. after the museums the driver told us that we are going to a place called Baluarte and since he's the expert on the tourist sites of Vigan we just enjoyed the sceneries while we are heading baluarte. :)

when we arrived near the area, it is then when I realized that Baluarte is the famed zoo of Chavit Singson where you can actually feed and mingle with the animals and even take a picture of their huge tiger. That's when I get very excited. I cant believe that I will actually have a chance to hug that dream pet I always had. well aside from the lion that is first from my list, a growling tiger can appease my longing. I enjoyed feeding the camel and looking at the other animals like the snake, wild boar, parrots, peacock and a lot more. I'm really having a blast though at first I almost lost the chance of having my picture taken with the tiger. time is up so the zoo advised me to come back the next day, and so I did! :) after Baluarte we found a room at Grandpa's Inn near the Crisologo street the famous street where old spanish homes were built and preserve. Sad to say that only the outer look was still the same the inside were either empty or already modernized but its still fun to step back in time while walking In Vigan. After some shopping we dined the side street way. after a little walk to Vigan's peaceful streets we dozed off with smiles on our faces. time check 10PM.

by 8am the next morning we were already back in baluarte, the picture booth with the tiger starts at 9.30 so we have to wait. we were debating if we should wait since our next stop is pagudpod which is hours away from Vigan. but ofcourse I still won, when would be my next chance to see myself beside a full grown tiger this might never happen again so I paid 100 pesos for 2 poses with the tiger plus my camera focused to me and my new found pet by my etneb. it was a really nice experience. plus i was able to hold a bear cat, a monkey and a yellow reptile that looks like an iguana. I forgot its name. :) I left Baluarte with a genuine smile plastered upon my face. This is really a vacation that I would never dare forget.

after a quick visit to the Vigan market on our lost quest to find the white kalamay which we (me and my sisters) called white mens because of its white sticky look haha! we rode a bus back to Loaog at 1pm, its a nicer bus than the one we rode on our way to Vigan and so I slept through the bumpy long ride.

Next Stop: Loaog - to find another bus that will lead us to Pagudpod and the famed Bangui windmills just before the beach haven. :) another an hour or so ride in an ordinary bus :) but still I am so excited to see the pristine beaches of Pagudpod. :) Time then is 3PM.

Whew! Still have a long way to write, I'll update as soon as I can and really sooner this time:)
date updated May 22, 09 :)

a trip to the north

I went North last February 21 to 23 and of course I had a blast. Visited Vigan (the heritage city of the spanish era), Pagudpod (pristine beaches with glistening green water even at night) and Laoag (the Marcoses domain.)

After landing in Loaog airport by 11am of Feb 21, we planned the route that we are about to take. we agreed to visit Vigan first so we boarded a mini bus with a Vigan signage. I asked the conductor, Manong magkano po hanggang Vigan? (How much is the fare until Vigan?) we are thinking that its just a 30 minute max ride so I am expecting a cheap fare. I am surprised to hear that the fare is 100pesos per person because I am not prepared for a looong ride. we then compared the prices in Manila. From Buendia to Palapala Cavite is a P50+ 2 hour or more ride+traffic so what am I expecting in a P100 peso fair in the province. Its an enjoyable bumpy ride with lots of greens and brown sceneries. And before I forgot we are riding in an ordinary bus! just imagine that 2 and a half rough drive. But its fun, the air is good and my hair is everywhere, I am just really excited to reach my destination and very hungry for a satisying northern lunch. :)

We reached Vigan at about 2:30 pm so of course we are dying to eat lunch, first we bought a map of vigan to help us on our navigation around the area then we ate at cafe leona and ordered a spanish style I guess shredded beef steak and its a good fare not just because I am hungry. :)

A kalesa is already waiting for us outside the diner, Manong Michelle will tour us around Vigan for a P250 per hour rate.

1st stop - the pottery photos are in my picasa website. :) will upload it here next time.
then the museums/old houses of the crisologo family, late President Elpidio Quirino and Father Burgos one of the three martyrs.

(I am out of time but will update tomorrow) :)

been a month

It's been a month since I updated my blog. :(

Lots of things to add like my recent trip to the northern part of the Philippines (Ilocos norte and Ilocos Sur), and my Metropost articles that you can catch on leading coffeeshops around the Metro like UCC, Coffee Bean and many others. I wrote the cover story of the third volume, billed by Phoemela.

so little time have to rush out. :(

will be back for more tomorrow.

missing my picasa

Haven't updated my picasaweb account for days now. :( becasue gmail's extra services is now blocked by our IT group. although I can certainly upload anywhere I've been used to doing that here in the office if my spare time would allow me. really miss the luxury of saving my latest pictures in the cyberspace where I can access it anywhere and give the link to anyone. sad... first I thought that my blogspot, this very page was blocked too but now its back. :) now I am still waiting for my picasa to come back if not I have no other choice but to find a suitable alternative. :(

merely nothings

I still dont have a topic to write on but I opened my blogging dashborad anyway, and here I am writing whatever it is that comes into my mind.

right now my mind is in...

food - not because I am hungry but since I am the writer for IFEX (CITEM's food show) this quarter I have to come up with delicious words to entice our attendees.

hmm whatelse?

I am dying to start and read my latest books such as charmed episode 1, complete twilight series (not that i havent read it yet but I am excited to read it as a tangible book, only read the entire four stories as virtual E-BOOKS), and the recent Sydney sheldon book that ate Diane gave me. she also gave me a collection of anne rice books and 2 other intriguin authors. Whew thats a long list to read but I am uber excited.

and then what?

:) dont know what else. my mind is filled with things but I dont think it deserve a place in the cyberspace.

violet - royalty color

my favorite color is now tagged as the color of the year.
a color fit for the royalties.
violet and purple everywhere.

my eyes are feasting on the trendiest motif of the year. :)

you're TOO beautiful for me...

the phrase that made my day...

what is it my beautiful girlfriend?

I miss you gorgeous...

my violet suits me now. like a royalty in the arms of her knight. Chivalrous words that pampers my heart. :)

the shrimp and the lollipop vs. Jack and Mina

This one is kinda funny... for me. :)

some people were just good at calling names, Imagine branding people according to their food counterparts :)

Shrimp - someone who have a sexy body but was not blessed with a lovely face. (just analyze ok!) well this one has been up for sometime now then I was curious what could be the opposite be called then finally Rommel enlightened me.

Lollipop - pretty face but... (you know the rest :)

well if you really think of it the analogy is good but the intentions are bad. :O hehe

***
How about Jack and Mina?
If you already saw a pretty girl with a not so pretty boy then you already met Jack and Mina. Jack as in Jackpot
Mina as in Minalas.
haha it sounds funny but its somewhat mean for me.
